Looks as though Kassim Osgood, one of my favorite Chargers due to his positive influence on the community and his San Diego ties (SDSU grad), may not make it to mini-camp as a San Diego Charger: http://www3.signonsandiego.com/stories/2009/mar/20/1s21chargers-osgood-trading-block182532/
I'm not going to make a big stink of this because Kassim's frustration at not being played more often at wide receiver and his impending free agency scream "trade", but I have to say that I would be bummed to see him go. Aside from his ability to dominate on Special Teams, Kassim has made no secret of his love for San Diego, which is music to the ears of any San Diego native. The Chargers may be a perennial playoff team this decade, but we all know that they've had more terrible teams than good ones, and that has driven a lot of players out of town (understandably) to seek more successful waters. So anytime a guy like Osgood wants to commit his future to a San Diego team it makes me feel like a proud father.
I hold on to the slim hope that you'll wear the Lightning Bolts for another season, Kassim, but if not, best of luck elsewhere. Your loyalty to SDSU, the Bolts and the City of San Diego is much appreciated.
Cheers,
Sir Bolt
