Merriman and The Spine

Where to start? Before I get into the shocking, yet possible prospect of Shawne Merriman missing the entire season due to "cartilage damage", I have to mention Harry Williams, the back-up receiver/special teams player for the Houston Texans that just went off on a cart in the Texans vs. Cowboys pre-season game. I gotta say that watching a healthy young man leave the field unable to move any part of their body is just something that brings tears to my eyes every single time I see it happen. Thank the Lord that it doesn't happen often, especially given the violent nature of the NFL, but seeing it once in a lifetime is too much. My thoughts and positive energy go out to Harry (hope I don't have the name wrong as I'm only basing it off what the announcers are saying) for a speedy recovery.

As for Mr. Merriman, all I have to say is, "Shawne, please don't leave us like this. Your knee has picked the WRONG time to give way to injury. Aren't we going for a Super Bowl "W" this year? I thought you were going to play a major role in making the other 16 teams' quarterbacks that we face this year a living hell. You can't bail now, bro. It's just not a cool....sorry, I just caught a close up of a Cowgirl Cheerleader.....anyway, Shawn, please heal fast and don't miss any significant time. While I feel Marques Harris and Jyles Tucker are more than able to fill in for you, I'm under no illusions that any of our back-ups are going to make our vaunted defense miss a beat without you here."

Phew! Now I feel better. Thanks for your patience folks. I had to get that love letter of sorts out of my system. Sort of makes me feel like he'll heal quicker now that I've written it.

Anyway - there's that. Now go ahead and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Actually, please go read a few blogs from the rest of our wonderful network before proceeding to enjoy the rest of your weekend. I almost promise it will be worth your time.

Cheers,
TWF/Sir Bolt
